People

I shot some people today.  But not like that.  There were no bullets involved, and I did it in broad daylight! Anyway, I'm a little tired right now, so I'll keep this short.

Today was bring your baby to work day, so I brought my camera, who I also had a present for.  The new 50mm f/1.8 Canon EF was quite welcome.  Being able to shoot in lower light with the wider aperture was quite nice.  While I was selling breakfast burritos and pan de huevo in the hall, I shot whoever walked by.  In the face.

I was pleasantly surprised with the results I got today, which turned out much better than I expected.  Although, a few of these turned out a little blurry, probably because even f/1.8 and a shutter speed of 1/80s wasn't enough to counteract the motion of the subjects and the low light they were in.  The shallow depth of field was also probably another culprit in giving me a little more blur than I wanted.

Overall, shooting people ended up going pretty well, and I intend to do it some more sometime.  Shooting more people in more places should be fun.

On another note, I think this might be my last night at home in Sahaurita.  After a couple weeks of working with the landlord and his handyman to get things done, I think the house is finally ready for human habitation again.  I thought girls were supposed to be neat freaks, but the previous tenants were complete slobs.  There was dirt and dust everywhere, interlaced with the more than just occasional hair.  And though I wasn't expecting it, the living room also got a fresh coat of paint.  I'm looking forward to moving in and making the place our own.

Thanks for reading.
